Volunteer with us!

Nearly all of the departments of Rusk County Emergency Services District #1 (RCESD #1) operate today as exclusively volunteer.  Volunteering at a member department of the RCESD #1 can be a very rewarding experience to not only the person who volunteers, but the community they choose to serve.

Why do people volunteer for a fire department?  Common answers include: to give back to the community, learn a new skill, professional development, or continue a family history in the fire service.

Training, equipment, resources, and community are all provided!

Outfitting a firefighter costs $9,410, including helmet, breathing apparatus, jacket, pants, gloves, and more.
