Laneville VFD

The Laneville Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1976 and currently provides services in a 117 square mile area. The Department is located on FM 1798 just east of the intersection of FM 225 in southern Rusk County.

The current membership of the department is 14 members, most of which are certified fire fighters and they also have a team of certified medical first responders. The Department provides fire protection services as well as responding to traffic accidents, medical calls, public safety calls, and public utility calls for Rusk County. The Department mutual aids with the Mt. Enterprise, Reklaw, Eastside and Carlisle Volunteer Fire Departments. The Department meets the 1st Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at their station located at 6826 FM 1798.

Our current station houses 6 vehicles- pumper/engines, brush trucks, water tender, and first responder truck. We expanded our station in 2017 to add 3 new bays and will be received a new pumper/engine in the summer of 2017 to enhance service the community.

The Laneville VFD holds an annual Street Dance, BBQ, and Auction fundraiser on the 3rd Saturday of October each year. The fun begins at 11 a.m. with an auction at 6 p.m. and a band starting at 7 p.m.

New volunteers are always welcomed to apply and the department is always in need of support volunteers to help out at the station.
