Strategic planning is the process of defining an organization, its goals, and objectives, then developing a
comprehensive plan to meet its desired outcomes. 

The Rusk County ESD #1 is developing a strategic plan to outline the future of the district and it's member departments.  The evolution of change in the fire service is inevitable. The future challenges we face should be embraced as an opportunity for improvement.   An opportunity to honor tradition is present but will be managed in a way that does not limit the service our citizens expect and deserve.  A "SWOT" (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis is likely to be used in this planning along with a wide range of diverse histories and experience, as well as opportunities to grow and foster enhanced cooperation and teamwork with our member departments.
